President’s Message – Coral Springs

By Rofina Groebmair

Summer seems to have finally arrived in Coral Springs. We are very lucky to have a fantastic community filled with many activities to do to get one out enjoying the beautiful outdoors. From our amazing lake with all its activities to our great walking paths, it is hard to come up with an excuse not to enjoy Coral Springs.

To add to all of that, we have some exciting activities planned through the summer months. First, for all of you who enjoy garage sales, we will be having our Annual Coral Springs Garage Sale on June 7th & 8th.  If you would like to have one, you can register by calling Lynne at 403-293-0550.  If you enjoy browsing, you can pick up your map on Saturday morning at the South Beach House.

For those of you who love to paint, we will be continuing with our “Paint the Fence” project on Saturday, June 21st.  Last year it was fantastic to see the great turnout and we also had a lot of fun.  It’s a great way to get out and meet some of your neighbors and clean-up the community at the same time.  If you would like to help out, please give me a call at 403-293-5225.

Next, during the week of July 14-18th, the Coral Springs Community Association together with the Don Hartman Northeast Sportsplex and the City of Calgary will be hosting Park & Play in the NESS fields.  This is a free play program filled with lots of fun, games, crafts and other activities and the staff from the city do a fantastic job of keeping those children smiling. Judging from the turnout we had last year, the kids had a tonne of fun.

For the golfer, we will be having our Annual Coral Springs Golf Tournament on Sunday, August 17th.  We hope that everyone who came out last year had a great time and will come out and join us again. This too is a fantastic way to meet some new people in your community.

Finally, to wrap up the summer we will be having our Fall Festival on Saturday, September 6th at the South Beach House. This will be an afternoon of fun for the whole family.

With all these things going on in the community, it will be really difficult not to have a great time this summer.  We encourage you to take the time to participate in one or more of these activities, get to know someone new, and truly enjoy what a great community we live in. CC
