President’s Message – Falconridge/Castleridge

By Pat Buchanan

Spring looks to be just over the horizon or at least I personally hope that winter is packing to leave. The Falconridge/Castleridge Community Association is now planning several “sprucing up” projects to give the Community Centre an improved visual effect to the community.
Once snow and winter have finally left the area, the parking lot will be thoroughly cleaned, and then the lines will be repainted. The area adjacent to the building at the front will be painted as a designated “NON-PARKING” zone. Once the lines are painted and the signs are up, this area will be enforced as a “tow away” zone, so we ask your support of not parking in this area.
Shortly we will be announcing our
“Community Cleanup Campaign” and of course, we will be looking for volunteers. We also will be undertaking a general cleanup of the area surrounding the Falconridge/Castleridge Community Centre and volunteer help is also welcomed and appreciated in this initiative.
Other “sprucing up” initiatives that are being considered are Residing of the Centre’s Garage; New Signage; Painting of the Halls; New Front Doors and some floor replacement. Of course, these major projects are always dependent on the availability of resources.
The Park & Play/Play & Stay program will be offered again this year. It will be in the first part of August, 2008. Of course, we will be hosting our Stampede Breakfast again. Watch your newsletter, our signage and in-house notices for dates and times.
I’m available to listen to you, as community residents anytime and can be reached most evenings at (403) 293-2015 or by email at pat.buchanan@pc.gc.ca. I often work “special events” at the hall on weekends, so feel free to just drop in and say hello.
