It is spring and the lake fees are due. We would like to thank the majority of our residents for having their fees paid by the due date of April 1, 2008.
Of our 1,474 homeowners, all but five have paid their fees for last year. The lawyers are in the process of collecting them. Collection by the lawyers is a very costly process for the delinquent homeowner as they not only have to pay the fee, but they pay all legal costs, administration charges and interest from the due date at 5% over prime.
If you are a new homeowner and have not sent in your fee for this year, please contact the beach house staff immediately to arrange for payment. As the requirement for payment is in the form of an encumbrance against your property, failure to notify us of your recent house purchase does not excuse you from this obligation. We’ve had a couple of people complain because we would not accept cash for their fees. That policy has always been in effect because of internal controls and the risk involved for our part-time employees. We do have a point of sale machine so we can take debit cards as well as cheques or money orders.
This year’s Annual General Meeting will be held at the south beach park on Thursday June 26 at 7p.m. Each home will receive a notice of the meeting and a blank proxy form. If you cannot attend, please fill out the proxy and drop it at the beach house. We will need 10% or 147 homeowners and/or proxy forms to make a quorum.
Please check out the new CSRA website, which should be up by early April.
