Celebrate Earth Day in Saddle Ridge – Tuesday April 22

By Carol Galpin

Tuesday, April 22 is Earth Day and communities around the globe will be celebrating with a variety of events and programs. Here in Saddle Ridge your community association is sponsoring the second annual Earth Day Pond Clean Up. If you’re looking for a way to mark this day why not gather up the family and join us at one of the ponds in Saddle Ridge?

Meet your friends and neighbours at either the waterfall on the pond in Hugh Bennett Park, or at the basketball hoop near Saddlecrest Pond. Our clean up will start at 6 p.m. and go until 8 p.m. Come for the entire time or drop-in when you can. The City of Calgary will provide gloves and clean up supplies. Refreshments will be served. For more information contact the Community Association at saddleridgecommunity@shaw.ca

To find more information about Earth Day and what other communities worldwide are doing you can visit www.earthday.net. To see what else is happening in Calgary, from the homepage click on Earth Day Events, then click on Find Events on the left side of the page, next click on Find by Location, then type in Calgary. You will find the Saddle Ridge pond clean up posted in this list. Click on the title for complete information. Or, from the Earth Day Events page, drag the world map to Canada, double click on Alberta, click on the star representing Calgary and you will find a summary of our event.

Happy Earth Day Everyone!
