Hello my friends and neighbours of the North of McKnight Communities! First of all, let me apologize for not having a message in the inaugural edition of the North of McKnight Community Connection. Unfortunately I was in hospital for the entire month of January, with heart related problems. Thankfully I have made a full recovery, and am anxious to get back into my role as president.
I would like to send a THANK-YOU to Marshall for putting in the blurb on my behalf in last month’s issue, and another THANK-YOU for all of the well wishes that I received from everyone.
The Falconridge/Castleridge Community Association is a hive of activity. We run a very successful playschool program, as well as the Buzz Club, which is a before and after school child care program. We have the Boys & Girl’s Club of Calgary, in our building, as well as the North of McKnight Community Resource Centre. We also have an almost full capacity of term renters using our facilities. Some of these programs include the 197th Scouts, the All-Canadian Karate Union, Kumon Math and Reading Centre, as well as several religious organizations. If you would like info on any of these resources, please feel free to call the FCCA office at 280-4422.
Over the past month, the FCCA has decided to make some exciting changes. We are looking into hiring a building manager to run the day to day business of the community association as well as start up some more programs for our community residents. With the help of some grants we are looking at sprucing up our building and doing a few long needed repairs.
I look forward to sharing more exciting FCCA news with you next month!
