President’s Message – Coral Springs

By Rofina Groebmair

Hello again everyone. It’s been a few months and for those of you who were not aware, our newsletter company closed its doors back in August leaving us a little off guard. However, we are excited for you to take a look at our new newsletter. We would be happy to hear your comments.

The last year was a busy one in Coral Springs. As you know we continued our “Paint the Fence” project along 68th Street. Thanks again to all of our amazing volunteers. We look forward to continuing this throughout 2008. Some new garbage cans have been placed along the walking path on 68th Street. Hopefully this will help to keep this area clean and looking nice.

You may also have noticed some tree holes which have been dug in most of the green space areas throughout Coral Springs. These holes will be replaced with new trees in the spring to help make our green space areas more beautiful.

We had a fantastic turnout for our Annual Golf Tournament on August 19th. Hope that everyone had a great time and will join us again next year. A special thanks to our Janet Ying who arranged this great day.

Finally, summer was wrapped up with our Fall Festival on September 8th. Unfortunately our weather was not so great, but it did not stop some 200 people that came out to enjoy the afternoon. A climbing wall was added this year as one of our activities and it turned out to be a great hit. We look forward to hosting this event again next year and want to thank Alderman Ray Jones for his continued support of this community event. Please stay tuned to our upcoming events and come join us for some fun.

On March 6, 2008 we will be having our Annual General Meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the PSA Boardroom at NESS. Please mark your calendars and take the time to attend this very important meeting to find out what’s happening in Coral Springs. We are always looking for people who want to get involved in the community and welcome all comments and concerns.

On behalf of the Coral Springs Community Association I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family all the best for the New Year. Thank you for your continued support and the support of our volunteers. These are some of the reasons Coral Springs is such a great place to live and raise our families.
