A bit of visible Saddle Ridge history is no more!

Have you been at the hall lately? If so you will notice that the ice rink and debris from the hockey shacks are gone. On the 9th of April the rink boards, the chain-link fence, and the huge pile from what was the hockey shacks were carefully removed by an excavation company. There are few residents left in Saddle Ridge that can remember what the area used to look like back in 1970, when our community enjoyed the rink and the skating area just west of the hockey shacks. The newly constructed rinks were frequently used in the coldest months of winter.

Residents Concerns: Martindale

Walk Light – 64th Ave and Martindale Gate
I received a concern from residents in Martindale about the length of the Walk Light across 64th Ave. Please find below the response from the city of Calgary.

President’s Message – Martindale

Alderman Stevenson’s Office
We have had great help from Alderman Jim
Stevenson’s office. There have been many requests that residents have put forward to his office and Jim’s staff have helped to direct residents to the right office or process for help. There has been excellent communication between the community association and Jim’s office. Even if our requests do not have the outcome we would like, the staff at Alderman Stevenson’s office has been excellent.

President’s Message – Coral Springs

Spring is in full swing in Coral Springs and summer is just around the corner. We are very anxious to continue with our community enhancement project of painting the fence along 68th Street starting on June 21, 2008. Residents in the effected area will be asked to repair their fences in preparation for the painting. Please give me a call if you would like to volunteer some of your time for a worthwhile project. It certainly has made a great difference to the look of our community. We can also look forward to some new trees being added throughout the green spaces.
